산양곶자왈

The place where Jeju’s ancient life was located

Gotjawal called the lungs of Jeju, contains underground water, and geothermal heat gushes out between the rocks, so you can feel warmth in the cold winter and coolness in the hot summer. Sanyang Gotjawal accounts for about 19% of Jeju Gotjawal. This Jeju forest is a unique forest in which various plants from the tropical northern limit and the cold southern limit live together. Among them, the trail of Sanyang Gotjawal, which accounts for 19% of Gotjawal in Jeju Island, is about 3.5km long, and there are benches for you to rest on here and there, so you can take a break while exploring. In Gotjawal, Sanyang, you can see features of nature that are not commonly seen, such as sinkholes and the site of what is believed to be an old living space, and occasionally, you can vividly discover nature-friendly features such as roe deer running around. This place is surrounded by nature, so you can breathe clean air with lots of trees and spend time relaxing your body and mind.
