Travel like an IdolAll the Sites from 3 K-Pop Music Videos Shot on Jeju

Jeju is a popular place to shoot K-pop music videos, and several high-profile promos used the island as a backdrop in 2021. These include Oh My Girl’s Dun Dun Dance, Twice’s Alcohol-Free, and Joy’s Hello. Each song showcases a different type of Jeju break, from relaxing independent travel to action-packed trips. This article will tell you all you need to know about the locations seen in each video so you can travel like your favorite stars.

Action-Packed Summer VacationOh My Girl: Dun Dun Dance

Oh My Girl shot the promo for Dun Dun Dance at various locations across the island. A notable early scene shows Jiho standing on an empty beach looking out at dramatic cliffs. This is a section of the Jeju shore called Hwanguchi Coast, which is near some of Jeju’s most famous spots. The cliff you can see in the distance is Yongmeori Coast, formed thousands of years ago by volcanic activity. The unique layered formation makes it a popular place to take a walk and snap some photos. Just out of shot is Sanbangsan Mountain, a giant tuff lava dome that shoots up out of the otherwise flat landscape. Later in the video, the group dances in front of a distinctive glass building. This is Yeomiji Botanic Garden, a vast greenhouse and outdoor space home to colorful exhibits of over 2,000 plant species from around the world. The botanic garden is located in Jungmun Tourist Complex, so it is convenient for anyone staying in the area’s hotels or resorts.

At one point, Mimi dances in a neon-lit arcade. This is I-Zone Act, an entertainment facility with over 70 different arcade games, a sports pub, and a bowling alley. The venue is located inside Shinhwa World, a resort complex on the island’s southwest side with plenty of fun things to do. You’ll find four hotels, a theme park, a water park, and many options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. People who enjoy adrenaline can follow in the footsteps of Mimi and Seunghee by racing go-karts. This part of the music video was shot at Wind 1947, a go-kart racing track outside Seogwipo City. The park is named because it has a vast 1,947-meter track that visitors can race around. Plenty of scenes show various members of the group dancing in the lush green countryside. Several of these scenes were shot at Saebyeol Heyyo Farm in Jeju, home to farmyard animals such as alpacas, horses, ponies, goats, and sheep. Look out for the scene where Arin is standing outside a green barn and a super quick shot of Mimi standing in front of two alpacas. The farm offers several animal-related experiences, including feeding and riding ponies.

Relaxing Independent TravelJoy: Hello

The video for Joy’s Hello begins with the idol lying in her room, clearly needing a break. And there’s no better way to clear your head and relax than visiting Jeju. The first shot of Jeju shows a coastal road on the island’s east with Gimnyeong Beach in the background. You’ll notice the pure white sand and the spectacular turquoise color of the water.

Later on, there’s a closer view of the beach, which highlights the black volcanic rock it is famous for. At one point, haenyeo divers follow the Red Velvet singer as she walks along the beach. These women are known for their free-diving ability, and they spend hours at sea catching shellfish. Many haenyeo live and work in the area near Gimnyeong Beach. You can find out more by visiting the Haenyeo Museum, which is a 17-minute drive away.
