Best Tourism Villages - Dongbaek

Sehwa-ri(세화리) in Gujwa-eup(구좌읍) and Dongbaek Village located in Shinheung-2ri(신흥2리), Namwon-eup(남원읍) have been selected as the best toruism villages by UN Tourism in 2023. The two were the only ones among the 130 on the list to be invited to the forum. Dongbaek, in the town of Namwon-eup, was described as having a healthy village cuisine of Jeju like the native camellia course meal, farm dining at Dongbaek Garden and the seasonal food fern pasta.

Sehwa-ri(세화리) in Gujwa-eup(구좌읍) and Dongbaek Village located in Shinheung-2ri(신흥2리), Namwon-eup(남원읍) have been selected as the best toruism villages by UN Tourism in 2023. The two were the only ones among the 130 on the list to be invited to the forum. For Sehwa, located in the town of Gujwa-eup, the organization shared Jeju's unique cultural heritage and food tourism like a UNESCO gourmet tour of a field meal, food and drinks using specialties such as carrots and potatoes, and cultural dining highlighting the stories and related performances about haenyeo (female divers) from the town.

The charms of Jeju Island are one of the captivating features of Korea. As a result, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization selected twelve destinations on Jeju Island, including Hallasan Mountain, its Geo Trails, and Udo Island, for a campaign titled "2017 ~ 2018 Korea Tourism 100 Selected Sites".
