Cozy and Warm: Jeju Scenery in Fall
As fall deepens with its colder winds, Hallasan Mountain’s autumn leaves spread its colors across Jeju. Jeju’s green scenery turns to red and yellow in fall. In contrast to the lively spring and summer, Jeju in fall is calm and cozy. Many tourists and locals come to parks and forest paths to enjoy the rare scenery that can only be captured in this season. There are many scenic spots for autumn leaves in Jeju, but temples and parks with fewer visitors are the best places to enjoy fall in Jeju. Here, we introduce you to some scenes of Jeju in the middle of fall, presented by its blue skies and colorful autumn leaves.
[Seogwipo Architectural Culture Tour] Course 8. A playground for horses in Jeju, such beautiful scenery
The middle mountainous area is home to Jeju horses. A flat area somewhere between the sea and the mountains, surrounded by volcanic cones, lived lonely breeders and horses. The windy hills and horses playing have become a usual scenery of Jeju, evoking artistic inspiration and sensibility in many people.
Dark Tourism: Painful memories of Jeju Island - Korean Independence (Aug. 15) and the Jeju Hangil Anti-Japanese Movement
The emerald sea and vast expanses of pasture, the fields of fragrant springtime canola flowers, and the windy island paths marked by basalt stone walls. This is undoubtedly Jeju scenery, and peaceful scenery at that. However, during the Japanese Occupation of Korea from 1910 to 1945, Jeju was used as a strategic outpost due to its proximity to Japan. Particularly at the end of World War 2, Jeju became an area where Japanese forces prepared to make a last stand, resulting in the island being caught up in the final frenzy of the war. This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the end of World War 2, and so in remembrance, here are a few of the wartime occupation sites that you can view for yourself and learn more about this tragic event in Jeju’s history.
