Touch animals and share emotional connectionsAnimal Experience Program for Children in Harmony with Jeju's Nature

Perhaps the most enjoyable time for children during activities outside of their daily lives is when they meet animals. This is because curiosity is stimulated when facing various kinds of animals that are not normally seen, and through feeding or touching, you can experience love for animals and various communications. Let's meet the animals in Jeju with natural resources that are wonderful and beneficial to both children and adults.

The animal experience is in a garden created by DadEmotional Healing Theme Park, <Father’s Garden>
파더스가든

Located in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, this is a theme park created by “Father’s Garden,” which pursues a naturalistic, cultural design group. To reflect on the father's extraordinary affection for plants, it was named the “Fathers Garden.” It opened in November 2019, and since it started as a farm that used to grow landscape trees and then expanded its business, the garden is particularly well maintained. You can play and relax in a variety of ways in the space where you can play with animals and heal in a beautiful garden.

The animal experience center, built in a spacious 30,000-pyeong (99,173.5m2) plot of land, offers child-friendly rabbits, donkeys, white porpoises, Shiba Inu dogs, and alpacas, as well as white deer in Baengnokdam Crater Lake, which is considered a symbol of good luck. The garden has coconut and Washington palm trees that are hard to see, so it is good to take pictures with the exotic scenery as background.

Beautiful flowers can be enjoyed in each season, with hydrangeas in full bloom in summer and grass hills full of pink muhly in autumn. In winter, you can see the symbolic camellia flowers of Jeju, and you can also experience mandarin pickings. There are photo spots everywhere in the garden, and there is a large parking space right in front of the theme park, so family tourists can enjoy it easily and comfortably.

Free animals in a vast pastureThe zoo next to Saebyeol Oreum Volcanic Cone <Saebyeol Heyyo Farm>
새별헤이요

A new zoo opened in September 2020, where you can see and experience animals living in nature as if you were at a ranch. It is located next to Saebyeol Oreum Volcanic Cone, which is famous for its silver grass that attracts tourists and provincial residents in autumn. Since it is a cool open place without anything obstructing the view, you can take a picture with Saebyeol Oreum Volcanic Cone as the background on a good day, so you can kill two birds with one stone. Except for some animals, including ducks, you can experience feeding a variety of animals such as alpacas, ponies, donkeys, and ostrich, and horseback riding experiences on the grassland will be open soon, so if you have a child who is not afraid of horse riding, it is worth a try.

In order to minimize the stress that animals suffer from staying here, the zoo was created as if they are kept and raised in a free space. The key point is to make efforts for the emotional stability of animals in order for the children who visit this place to receive a positive connection.

It is composed of a variety of outdoor stages, camellia habitats, mandarin fields, and flower fields, and you can take pictures with the carriages and horse sculptures in the background. Right next to it is “Saebil Café,” famous for its views and bakeries, with a clear view of Saebyeol Oreum volcanic cone, and “Nuovo,” an Italian restaurant where pizza and pasta are the main dishes, so you can climb up the oreum and take care of your health, experience animals, and enjoy delicious meals and desserts at once.

You can hear a parrot's song on a lucky dayAn Animal Experience Deep in the Center of the Mountains <Best Parrot>
앵무야 앵무야

An animal experience in the center of nature that gives you the feeling of being deep in the mountain somewhere even though it is a short distance, less than 20 minutes by car, from Jeju Airport. Parrot, Parrot is a place where you can meet 250 different parrots. Although it is not big, it has the advantage of being able to feed them, touch them directly, and interact with the parrots by placing them on your hands or shoulders.

It is very popular with children because you can meet exotic parrots such as cute-sized parakeets, giant blue-and-yellow macaws, African grey parrots, and Cockatoos. In particular, the African grey parrots and Cockatoos, which are known to speak exceptionally well compared to other species, say "Hello" and "I love you" when they meet children, so the children love meeting them. On days when the parrot is in a good mood, you may be lucky enough to hear the parrot sing.

Full of various animalsA little petting zoo <Gaeddonge Zoo>
개똥이네 동물원

Located in Wahl-ri, Jocheon-eup, “Gaeddonge Zoo” is a place that operates pensions and cafés where you can enjoy various experiences such as petting animals and farming. Just like the name of the zoo, there are many animals that you cannot usually see, such as wallabies, desert foxes, Korean raccoons, meerkats, raccoons, coatis, prairie dogs, bearded dragons, pony horses, and iguanas, so it can present a wonderful experience for children. It is categorized into the Parrots Hall, Rodents Hall, Reptiles Hall, and Mammals Hall, but walking along the path led by a wooden deck makes you feel as if you came to a village where animals gather to live, so it is easy to view the animals. It is different from other places in that it is designed to release animals in the garden and control human accessibility. In addition to watching the animals, you can also experience feeding them yourself. Occasionally, when you approach a baby alpaca, the mother may spit on you, so be careful.
