Wimi Port is a national fishing port and with its abundant fishery resources is an important base for the province’s coastal fishing industry. Its fortuitous location means that it is protected from the worst effects of the winter typhoons. It is also in a very warm region of Jeju called Namwon-eup, and thus is famous for being where Jeju’s first cherry blossoms of the season emerge. While walking along Jeju Olle Walking Trail Course No. 5, Jigwido Island is visible offshore.
